For the First Time Since 1998

Teen heartthrob Jonathon Taylor Thomas came out of what seemed to be hiding!

Apparently Pat Richardson accidentally tweeted a picture of the recent Home Improvement reunion, brought to together by Entertainment Weekly. Either way fans didn’t hate it – they loved seeing celebrity teen heartthrob, JTT’s face for the first time in over 14 years. I think fans have secretly been waiting for this day to come – and it finally has. It’s funny because for some reason I felt like he’d be closer to my age, and we’d be just perfect for each other by now, but apparently he just turned 30! It’s been 12 years since the memorable series that lasted for 8 years came to an end. Where has time gone? – I literally feel like I was just tuning into this show the other day…

Good news though, for those of you that don’t know, Tim Allen is coming out with a new show this fall that claims to have a lot of similarities to Home Improvement. Last Man Standing now has manly-man Tim living in a “women’s world” while attempting to raise three daughters all at different and interesting stages in their life. Tune in Tuesdays this fall starting October 11th, Tuesdays 8 p.m. on ABC to catch the new series.

Looking at Mark, I would have never guessed he was a popular TV star 15 years ago, yikes dude. Tim still looking good. Zach looks higher than the clouds. Heidi looks great – with a few lip injections here and there? Al…aged well and still looks the samehappy as always. Patricia, the iconic TV mom – looks amazing at 60! And JTT self explanatory, still adorably cute as ever (I don’t think he’s grown in height since the last episode).

Yikes, Mark…

I don’t think the boys could get much cuter at this age.

Nice article from Ron Dzwonkowksi from the Detroit Free Press relating to Last Man Standing. Check out the trailer.

Anxiously Waiting…

Back in early June I got the official word and position that I would be working for the new Laugh Factory opening here Chicago – a well reputable comedy club that’s extremely successful out in LA. I had the opportunity to work out there last summer as a cocktail waitress, which is fortunately how I was able to get in to this location here. As soon as I received word that they were planning on opening a club in Chicago, I immediately got in contact with the owner, had an interview when he was visiting here and basically got offered the position right then and there. They decided to bring me on as a social media and marketing person, since that was were my expertise was. I informed them about my passion with social media and the great benefits it’ll have for their company – especially since comedy is all about interacting with your fans. Since I’m not a talented comedian myself, I figured I can do more of the ‘behind the scenes entertainment’ and interact with the fans in a different manner – through tweeting, facebooking, blogging, etc.

The Laugh Factory is opening in the old Lakeshore Theater location on Belmont and Broadway in the Lakeview neighborhood. The building has been undergoing an $5 million dollar renovation which has ultimately taken the entire summer and longer to complete. After just recently meeting with my boss at the Laugh Factory and two other employees a few weeks ago, he gave us a start date of September 12th in the office – next Monday! and I can hardly wait!

I’ve been in talks and texting with my co-worker, Tricia – who will also be a social media and marketing coordinator as well – for the past few weeks. We’ve met previously to discuss all our thoughts, ideas and plans on what we want to do for the Laugh Factory. We had the chance to tour our new office, where our minds will be hard at work, and let me tell you… we’re completely feeding off the energy and excitement of each other, which is making us more anxious to actually start. The 377 person theater is planning for a red-carpet blowout, with promised A-Lister celebrities, something I hope Tricia and I will soon be diligently working on! I just keep telling myself patience is key… it’ll all fall into place, eventually. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a start date within the next week so we get in that office to begin planning and promoting this impressive new club coming to Chicago! Until then I’ll keep you posted, especially on the actual opening date of the club itself 🙂

How Did You Spend Your Day?

Short, Sweet & Simple Morning

Regardless of the fact that I haven’t started my new position yet, and I’m back home visiting for a week – I still would have taken on the task I did today on any other day off. Most people would either dread it or look at it as a chore – but to me it’s a stress reliever and a relaxing job. I spent 2 1/2 hours bright and early this morning – power washing the barn! It only gets done about once a year – and coincidentally happens to be during the few days I go back home to visit – how nice of you Momma 😉

All clean!

Happy Gals

Buttt I plan on being right back out there tomorrow to clean stalls – which my mom admitted to actually putting off for a few days because she knew I’d be home – and she says its great “physical activity.” However, it looks like its been more like a week and half since she’s last cleaned those poor horse’s ‘bedrooms.’ That, and the tack room looks horrendous, like it hasn’t been entered in years. I’ve never been so ashamed to show off ribbons and trophies I’ve won than I am now – full of cob webs – not okay Mom!

Spending time out in that barn doesn’t bother me one bit. I’d spend all day out there if I could. It’s honestly therapeutic for me, being around my 3 gals out there, while at the same time reminiscing about all the memories wrapped up in the barn itself. After having the entire summer off, I think I can safely say that today was the most relaxing one I’ve had – I spent it in my happy place with my happy girls 🙂

Watch if You Dare, But Do Not Judge…

Basically 48 hours of the Unforgettable weekend we had – wrapped up into 4 1/2 minutes. Impressive Mandy. In order to catch the one-liner quotes you may have to watch it more than 3 times, that’s not saying you have to though 😉 So like I said watch if you dare, but promise not to judge. Just a few good friends who haven’t seen each other in awhile, celebrating the right way in Chicago. Enjoy 🙂

Winnie The Pooh

I’ve been seeing the Winnie the Pooh trailer for the past few months and couldn’t wait to go see it in theaters when it finally came out. I think the song (Somewhere Only We Know by Keane) they chose to go with it does adds even more sentimental value to Pooh than there already is.

There’s something about the little bear and his friends that takes me right back to my childhood. My mom even teared up while watching the trailer, and said the same thing, it takes her back to when I was just a little girl. I went to go see this with a couple girlfriends while I was back home for the weekend, and adored it, although I wish it would have been longer than just an hour 😦 And I’m not sure if it’s just me or what, but I never remember Winnie the Pooh being a show I laughed at, but I can promise you us 6 girls laughed at nearly every line in this movie. Especially the words that come out of Pooh’s mouth, so much personality and character that comes from the tubby little bear. Loved it! And might I add, I think some of the best quotes come from Winnie the Pooh.
